Frequently asked questions

Common questions on materials, customisation, lead times and care.

Can outdoor furniture stay outside in the rain?

Yes. An aluminium frame with PE wicker and quick-dry cushions is designed for permanent outdoor use — water drains through the weave and the open-cell foam instead of collecting inside. Teak is equally at home outdoors, though it will weather to silver-grey. The pieces worth storing are soft textiles such as scatter cushions, especially through prolonged storms.

Does PE wicker grow mould or fade?

PE is high-density polyethylene and does not absorb water, so it will not grow mould — that problem belongs to natural rattan or low-grade PVC. UV resistance can be rated beyond 3,000 hours, so colour holds up over years of normal outdoor use.

Does teak need oiling, and will it crack?

Oiling preserves the original tone; it is not required. Left bare, teak oxidises to silver-grey with no loss of strength — many people prefer it. Fine surface checks usually follow strong sun and sudden rain, and are the timber breathing normally; teak oil slows them down.

Are the cushions removable and washable? What happens when it rains?

Covers unzip and can be machine washed cold on a gentle cycle, then air-dried. The core is open-cell quick-dry foam, so rain passes through rather than soaking in and the seat is usable soon after a shower. In prolonged wet spells, stand the cushions up to ventilate and avoid stacking them damp.

What materials suit a coastal, high-salt-spray site?

An aluminium frame with PE wicker is the safest combination, with hardware upgraded from standard 304 to 316 stainless. Avoid carbon steel, thinly plated fittings and pale fabrics — salt marks show up most on light colours.

Are the dimensions on the product pages exact?

The product pages give reference ranges for that product type rather than measured values for each piece. Since the range is currently presented from renders, exact dimensions are issued as a drawing at sampling or project confirmation. Every model can be resized for your site, and the approved drawing governs the order.

Can size, colour and fabric be customised?

Yes. Size, frame finish, weave colour, fabric and configuration are all made to project. For private courtyards, hotels and developments the usual route is adapting an existing model rather than tooling a new one.

How should the furniture be maintained?

Routine care is water and a soft brush, with a mild detergent for stubborn marks. For coastal projects, rinse salt deposits off each quarter. On teak, one oiling a year keeps the original tone. Avoid pressure-washing the weave at close range and never use strong acids or alkalis.

How are minimum order, lead time and warranty set?

These depend on material, quantity, destination and project schedule, so there is no single figure. Send us the model, quantity and delivery port and we will quote specific terms.

Which countries do you ship to?

We handle export projects, with Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia as our main markets. Shipping and customs arrangements are confirmed per destination, and we can work with your nominated forwarder.
